Pavel Tantchev

Growing up between the United States and Bulgaria, I became aware at an early age of how profoundly economic systems and institutions can shape people’s lives and opportunities. My family’s experience of Bulgaria’s difficult market transition from communism, alongside my childhood travels throughout the Balkans, brought these differences into sharper focus. I was struck by a region full of remarkable people, resilience, and untapped potential, yet still deeply shaped by the legacy of political upheaval and economic hardship. These experiences sparked a lasting curiosity about why some societies prosper while others struggle to translate their potential into opportunity. That curiosity has since grown into a passion for political economy, emerging markets, and understanding how effective policies and investment can foster sustainable, inclusive growth and meaningful improvements in people’s lives. Being a part of Broadpeak is an exciting opportunity to bring together my personal motivations and professional interests by contributing to work that channels investment toward positive, lasting impact in communities around the world.
