Máté Kriza
After several years in corporate finance and public affairs my interest and career have made a decisive turn towards sustainability and circular economy about twenty years ago. The alarming reports and news I read at that time on climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution of the air, waters and soil made me rethink of my career ambitions and sense of purpose. As a consequence, I decided to commit myself to engage business and other stakeholders in Hungary by initiating the founding of the local chapter of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) and later the Foundation for Circular Economy. Through these organizations and my consulting activity I promoted the idea and practice of sustainability and circular economy to different audiences in Hungary and the CEE region. More recently I also devoted myself to the academic research on circular economy. I harness my knowledge and experience to leverage impactful projects and investments in the countries of the Global South, where there is a burning need for improving the environment and the livelihood of the people.
